Splinter Cell: Blacklist video details the two Spy vs Mercs modes

By Stephany Nunneley

Ubisoft has released a Splinter Cell: Blacklist video featuring Spies vs Mercs director Gunther Galipot discussing the return of the fan favorite mode.

In the video, the two main modes are detailed: Classic SvM and Blacklist SvM.

The former is the same 2v2 mode those who played Chaos Theory and Pandora Tomorrow will be familiar with, and the the later is a new 4v4 mode chock full of customization options. These customizations will allow users to try different weapon load-outs,, gadgets, vision modes, and armor each with active and passive abilities specific to each side.

In the Classic version of the mode, the maps are lit differently than in Blacklist in order to emphasize the light and shadow elements.

Playing as a Spy takes place in third-person perspective, and players must try to remain undetected in order to hack terminals. They will also have access to various weapons and gadgets.

Mercenaries are played in first-person, and are tasked with defending the data stored in the terminals from the infiltrators.

Players will end up playing on both sides of the fence before a game in the modes are concluded.
