Ted Price IAmA covers: PC, Fuse, Resistance return, Wii U

Insomniac CEO Ted Price has said on Reddit the firm may develop titles for PC in the future, explains why the team decided to skip the system with Fuse, and states that the team is not working on any Wii U games.

Speaking in a wide-ranging IAmA on the site, Price said the reason Fuse wont hit PC alongside PS3 and Xbox 360 is due to bandwidth issues.

“We wanted to make sure that we nailed it on Xbox 360 and PS3 before considering anything else,” he said. “New IP, new engine, tools, new publishing partner. There was a lot of “new” on the project.”

Price said the team could develop titles for PC in the future, and to “stay tuned” on the matter.

He also said the reason the team isn’t working on Wii U title is because Insomniac considers it a current-gen platform, and its sounds as though the firm’s focus once Fuse is released will be on next-gen.

“Wii-U is something I’d consider more current gen – but we’re not working on games for it,” he said. “When it comes to PS4 I’m excited that they seem to lowering barriers for independent developers. It’s cool to see almost weekly announcements from Sony explaining how they’re opening things up for indies.

“And of course I’m very excited to see what Microsoft announces soon.”

As far as the future of Resistance is concerned, Price said his favorite Resistance to make was Resistance 1, but since the firm no longer owns the IP, the future of the series is unclear.

“The future of Resistance is unclear – I’ve said we wouldn’t go back to making Resistance since we don’t own the IP, he said, “but I’ve also learned to say never say never.

“We probably won’t go back to it, however I’ll never rule out the possibility (changing my tune from when I said “we’re not doing another Resistance” in a video). I’ve learned that with some things it’s good to leave doors slightly open.”

Fuse will release on PS3 and Xbox May 28 in North America and and May 31 in the UK .
