If denting supercars as the sun comes up is your idea of fun, DriveClub has you sorted.
Paul Rustchynsky, Alex Perkins and Col Rodgers of Evolution Studios told PlayStationer that while damage isn’t the focus of DriveClub, it will include damage modelling.
“We’re not making Burnout, but the cars do damage, they deform and all that kind of stuff, so you are effectively scuffing up million pound supercars,” the team said.
The site asked about weather effects like rain or snow, but received a negative answer.
“If there is a call for weather effects, nothing is currently off the cards at this point,” Evolution said.
“The game that you play day one on PlayStation 4 is not going to be the same game you play a year down the line because it will have evolved a lot. We’re keeping the development architecture of the tracks etc very much open. We’re not closing off anything just yet.
“Time of day is something that will be implemented at launch,” the three added.
The studio answered several other questions, confirming dedicated servers; club memberships of two to 12; steering wheel support; that the PlayStation Plus version will be missing some optional premium extras like cars and tracks; a single-player mode; and a lack of off-roading tracks. It’s worth clicking through for a discussion on handling, too.
DriveClub is a PlayStation 4 launch title.
Thanks, Lengendaryboss.
