Europa Universalis 4 dev diary looks at world exploration

By Dave Cook

Europa Universalis 4 has received a new dev diary out of Paradox Interactive, this time looking at exploration.

The clip stresses that the concept of exploration in Europa Universalis 4 is founded around diplomacy and conversation. If you’re a small nation without military muscle, you may look to strike deals with countries rather than waging war.

As an alternative, you can explore the world to create settlements and colonies, thereby growing your nation on new borders. You can become richer as a result and over time grow a sprawling, economically prosperous empire to be feared and respected.

What do you think?

The game is due for PC worldwide on August 13. You can pre-order it now direct from the studio.
