GDC Europe 2013: talks from Ubisoft, Crytek added to schedule

GDC Europe 2013 organizers have announced Crytek executive producer Joshua Howard will provide a design session at the conference, as will Silent Hunter Online programmer Eugen Jiresch.

Howard will discuss free-to-play FPS Warface and former projects such as Microsoft Flight and APB in his talk titles: “Better Teams Through Game Design”. He will touch upon applying game design to management and creating more productive teams.

Jiresch’s talk “Flash to the Max! High Performance 3D Graphics in Silent Hunter Online, will discuss the latest release of Ubisoft’s browser submarine game, and how he overcame the “technical hurdles in porting a multi-platform C++ console rendering engine into Adobe Flash.” u

Also announced was a talk from Stormfall: Age of War developer Plarium’s head of business development Leonard Frankel. The studio, which has gained four million MAU in three months, wuill have its boss providing a talk called “Growing a Hardcore Game on Facebook.”

GDC Europe 2013 runs next month from August 19 to 21 alongside gamescom.
