Gun Monkeys has been given a price reduction by Size Five Games.
According to an update on the studio’s website, the team has cut the price reluctantly in order to help draw in more players.
“It’s something I’m doing extremely reluctantly, because I don’t want to devalue the game,” said the firm’s Dan Marshall. “I 100% think it was worth $10. But I’ve come to the conclusion that the game’s multiplayer-only concept is a tough sell, so a pricing change is a necessary evil.
“It’s just not fair on the people who are playing and enjoying the game that they’re struggling to find people to play, so I’m doing everything in my power to remedy that. You really do have to sell HYPER-LOTS of copies in order for the servers to have anyone in them, triply so if you’re trying to get a game at 4am.
“This is a fact I now know that I didn’t really appreciate before.”
As well as a drop in price, every purchase now also comes with a second key to gift to a friend.
Gun Monkeys tasks players with controlling a modern-day power company where in the future, an experiment into Perpetual Energy obliterated all human life.
Your job is to send a legion of expendable monkeys forward in time to collect Power Cubes and return them to present-day.
Gun Monkeys is now $5.99/£3.99/€4.49.
