Ghostlight Games has taken 627 pre-orders for Devil Survivor 2 DS, a good third of its goal of 1,800.
“The other thing you’ve all been asking about is how the Devil Survivor 2 pre-orders are going. Well I do now have numbers for you and I can report that we have had 627 pre-orders so far,” the publisher announced in a blog post.
“As terrific as the response has been, and we thank you enormously for your support, we know that there are still a number of you out there that would like to join this very select group.
“We would like remind everyone that the pre-order for DS2 and the DS2/DSO double pack are only open for another two weeks. The closing date is set for 30th August 2013.”
Earlier this month, Ghostlight confirmed it needs 1,800 pre-orders to make a European launch of the DS title commercially viable.
Devil Survivor 2 is the second entry in yet another branch of the practically forest-like Shin Megami Tensei franchise. The first game was recently re-released for 3DS as Devil Survivor Overclocked, but never made it to Europe on DS despite getting a North American release. Devil Survivor 2 likewise launched on DS in the States but this will be the first time it crosses the pond – assuming it does.
A 3DS remake of Devil Survivor 2 subtitled Break record has been announced for Japan but not other territories.
