Disney Infinity reviews have begun trickling in, with most hailing a solid toys-to-life sandbox, but a few outliers coming away unimpressed.
The Disney Infinity review embargo lifted at a strange hour on Sunday night, and as a result at time of writing several major outlets such as Destructoid, Gamespot and Joystiq were yet to post reviews, and Metacritic hadn’t begun posting results. That said, what we do have is below; please flag any more you find in the comments. All scores out of ten except where otherwise noted.
Disney Infinity’s review scores may be more important than you think; the franchise is going head-to-head with Skylanders, which is one of the biggest franchises in gaming over the past few years, although the core may not relish the fact. Disney is believed to have shelled out $100 million developing the game, tie-in mobile apps and associated accessories. If successful, it may reinvigorate games retail, as Skylanders did. If it fails, Disney Interactive’s last great triple-A bid will likely see the company pull even further away from traditional games development.
