Kickstarter will officially open its doors to Canadian projects from September 9, a little later than promised.
Up until now, the crowdfunding platform had been restricted to those with bank accounts and addresses in the US and, more recently, the UK.
Although campaigns won’t go live until kick off date, creators can begin building them now ahead of launch.
Hosting a Kickstarter in their actual country of origin can benefit creatives enormously, allowing them to use local currency and avoid tax nightmares.
Thankjs, Joystiq.
