PlayStation Vita Pets is Sony’s answer to the Nintendog’s phenomenon. It’s coming to a handheld near you in 2014.
Unveiled over at PS Blog EU, PlayStation Vita Pets is developed by Spiral House and it begins with players choosing one of four puppies. They each have their own personality and voices, and they then go off on an adventure around Castlewood Island.
The point of having a narrative and actual game functions, says Spiral House’s Kevin Oxland, is so the game isn’t just a mere pet sim and that it’s actually something you can play to a deeper degree.
Of course there’s the usual grooming, treats and walkies, but much more. We’ll update once Sony drops more details on us.
Christ, I got through that whole thing without a single animal pun. I must be sick.
