Wii U Basic stock will become “limited” in the UK, Nintendo has told Eurogamer, in order for the firm to focus on the Deluxe 32GB model.
“The current Wii U Basic Pack will become limited in supply,” a Nintendo UK spokesperson said. “However we are always looking for fun and interesting ways to package up our products for different groups of fans.”
Wii U’s 8MB Basic model has sold poorly in the regions, as the firm said it had over-estimated demand for a less expensive model, which in reality only only held 3MB of data after installing system updates and the like.
To help move the Deluxe system, Nintendo announced a $50 price cut yesterday.
