Day of the Tentacle remake was in the works before LucasArts was shuttered – report

By Stephany Nunneley

Day of the Tentacle was in the works at LucasArts Singapore before George Lucas sold his company to Disney, which shuttered the game division.

This according to a report over on Kotaku which covers the fall of the venerable studio.

Day of the Tentacle would have been released in a similar fashion to Monkey Island and would contain a remade background along with new cut-scenes.

While it was never greenlit for development despite it practically being completed, a Lucasarts executive said the company has “no interest” in re-releasing “legacy” titles, but instead the project was a “dream project [that] never saw the light of day.”

Thanks, Shack.
