Rayman Legends may eventually land on 3DS once some technical hurdles are jumped over, according to Ubisoft executive Alain Corre.
Speaking with CVG, Corre said due to the game being “very big game with a lot of levels,” along with it’s graphical prowess, it will take the team some time to “squeeze everything and downsize it onto other formats.”
“But we’re not ruling anything out for that format [the 3DS],” he said. “We can’t say anything more for the moment, but we can’t rule the format out.”
Corre said with 3DS being such a huge success, and if Ubisoft thinks a particular game or gameplay style can be developed for the handheld, it “considers it.”
He went on to say he feels Rayman Legends defines “what the quality of the Wii U is,” and feels the system has “real potential and power.”
“A machine works when you have great content on it,” said Corre. “We feel Rayman was one, Just Dance is another one coming, with Donkey Kong and Mario from Nintendo also.”
Rayman Legends is out now on Wii U, PS3, PC, Xbox 360 and Vita.
