In order to capture video from the PS3, you either had to plug in a capture card to its AV port, or illegally strip the HDCP copy protection out of its HDMI signal. Well, the PlayStation 4 doesn’t have an AV port, so it seems like for the moment it might be impossible to legally obtain PS4 gameplay footage to upload to Youtube. In response to this potential problem, Sony’s president has responded ambiguously on Twitter, so check that out after the jump.
We'd like to keep gamers happy and are considering every possibility regarding PS4's gameplay capture. We'll update you as soon as ready.

Keep in mind that it’s still only rumour that all PS4 HDMI output is encrypted. That said:
To me, that sounds like gameplay is currently encrypted and rather than stripping that out somehow, Sony are looking into allowing direct uploading to Youtube from the device itself. This would probably be a frustrating solution for Youtubers who already have a workflow established and would prefer to first edit the footage in Finalcut. Of course with a tweet like that, who knows? Maybe you could record straight to the PS4’s hard drive, or an external one.
Hopefully there’ll be a legal way to simply capture the console’s signal output though. Phil Spencer of Microsoft’s Game Studios said last month that the Xbox One’s gameplay footage would not be encrypted, while proprietary content obviously will be.
Thanks, NeoGAF.
