Respawn Entertainment’s Titanfall may be generating hype everywhere, but Respawn Entertainment co-founder Vince Zampella has a realistic approach to the shooter’s sales prospects.
In a radio interview with KFI AM60, Zampella acknowledged that the shooter is a new IP and would not be as huge as Call of Duty.
“You build up momentum over the years when you put out a new brand. It’s starting over, so it won’t sell as well. It’s a new brand.”
He added: “But for us it’s kind of a passion project. We love it. It’s something new.
“It’s taking the old paradigm of these shooter games being very grounded and two-dimensional and now adding this verticality to it and making it something that’s a new experience; something that people haven’t seen before.”
Zampella also confirmed the game will be priced at $60 when it launches next year on PC, Xbox 360 and Xbox One
You can get your hands on a playable demo of the game at Eurogamer Expo this month.
