Deus Ex: Human Revolution Director’s Cut available as cheap upgrade to PC version

By Brenna Hillier

If you already own Deus Ex: Human Revolution on PC, the Director’s Cut version won’t cost you as much as it would otherwise, with further discounts applying if you picked up the major DLC pack.

According to the Square Enix blog, the publisher is “not trying to stitch you up” by re-releasing the game, and has implemented the following price structure on Steam:

  • New purchase (if you don’t already have the game): £12.99/€19.99/$19.99
  • Own the basic game (with no DLC): £6.99/€7.99/$9.99
  • Own the game and Missing Link DLC: £3.49/€3.99/$4.99

The Director’s Cut includes the core game; the Missing Link, Explosive Mission, and Tactical Enhancement DLC packs; improvements to AI and boss fights; developer commentary; a New Game Plus mode; and a making-of video.

The console version doesn’t seem to be eligible for an upgrade deal, but also includes second-screen features not available on PC. The Mac version doesn’t seem eligible either, as it’s not on Steam. Interestingly, in the US, retailers are pricing the Wii U version higher than other consoles’.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution Director’s Cut arrives on October 22 in North America and October 25 in Europe and beyond.

Thanks, SplatteredHouse.
