PlayStation 4 FAQ clarifies sharing, activating a primary system, more

By Stephany Nunneley

Sony has posted an FAQ ahead of PlayStation 4’s release next month, explaining a few bits and bobs along with its sharing polices.

Users can still share disc games with no issues, but games over PSN come with a few caveats.

“Games you download can be played by users who share your PS4 system, such as your family and friends,” reads the FAQ. “You do not have to log in to the system for other users to play these games.

“If you join PlayStation Plus, benefits such as online multiplayer features that come with that membership can be enjoyed by users who share your PS4system. You do not have to log in to the system for other users to enjoy these benefits.”

Each user will have a registered primary console, which means anyone can play these games on your console, even with separate log ins.

Games purchased through PSN can be downloaded and played on different console, but only the original pruchaser can play this game on the console the game was not originally purchased on. Up to two systems can be used concurrently.

It’s all explained in detail through the link, and while there’s nothing you don’t already know in there, it just clarifies it for you.

PS4 launches on November 15 in North America and November 29 in Europe.
