Sonic 2 and Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing Transformed amongst Sega’s mobile push

By Dave Owen

Sega has been making steady in-roads into mobile games, and has now revealed what it has on its slate for the coming months. This includes an updated Sonic 2 on iOS and an Android version, as well as new game Demon Tribe.

The new iOS version of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 will support widescreen and Retina displays, and will come as a free update to anyone who has already bought the game.

The mobile version of Sumo Digital’s Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed will feature a World Tour mode tailored to gaming while on the move, as well as supporting 4-player local and online multiplayer.

Demon Tribe is a MOBA combined with a collectible card game that’s coming to iOS some time this winter. It’s being worked on by Masayoshi Kikuchi, who has previously worked on major Sega franchises such as Yakuza and Panzer Dragoon.

There’s also a sequel to the Nintendo 3DS title Rhythm Thief & the Emperor’s Treasure, this time called Rhythm Thief & the Paris Caper. That comes to iOS some time in early 2014.

Thanks, Polygon.
