Vanguard Princess takes to Steam Greenlight

By Brenna Hillier

Vanguard Princess, an indie fighter from ex-Capcom staffer Tomoaki “Suge9” Sugeno, wants your Steam Greenlight vote.

A Steam release would mark the Linux and Mac debut of the fighter, and include various community features like Steamworks and even support for SteamOS.

The premise of Vanguard Princess is that government experiments on a young girl triggered an event that gifted many young girls with mystical powers. The original experimental subject escapes and quite understandably vows vengeance on the world, but a group of women determine to use their newfound powers to stop her.

There are ten unique characters, and the fighter uses a tag team format. As well as story mode, Vanguard Princess supports versus mode.

If you already own the game from another vendor, you’ll receive a free Steam key if the campaign is successful. A Japanese freeware version is available if you’d like to give it a try.
