Sony Santa Monica’s Nathan Gary has clarified a comment this weekend which seemed to suggest that Journey and The Unfinished Swan were headed to PlayStation 4. No such luck, I’m afraid.
In a follow up tweet, Gary clarified that he had been playing The Unfinished Swan and Journey on PlayStation 3, after becoming “nostalgic” for the indie titles while playing Flower, flOw and Escape Plan on the PS4.
The developer also said both PS3 games still look “fantastic“.
Gary praised the new PS4 versions of the indie games, and said Sound Shapes, which he didn’t have on hand, is also looking good on PS4.
Original story:
Four digital PS3/Vita titles, including Escape Plane and thatgamecompany’s Flower, have been announced for PS4 ports, but two notable hits in that space – Journey and The Unfinished Swan – have not. But Sony Santa Monica’s Nathan Gary this morning tweeted some pictures that indicate they are on the way.
He started by posting a picture of a PS4, and then pictures of a TV displaying Flower, fl0w and Escape Plan next to a PS4, and then pictures of Unfinished Swan and Journey, but zoomed in enough that no PS4 is in the frame. But the implication in that stream is clear. It’s not unreasonable to think that those last two games are being ported as well. See his feed for the images.
Thanks, PSNStores.
