Media Molecule wants touch and motion controls to make sense in the context of Tearaway. This new developer diary discusses how the team aspires to make non-traditional controls less gimmicky and more intuitive.
As you’ll see, Media Molecule is keen on the controls “acknowledging” the player; one of the ways this is achieved is by having the players fingers appear on-screen when using the rear touchpad. It’s like the game doesn’t pretend it’s not a game – you are interacting with it in that context, and it knows it.
Tearaway is a Vita exclusive due on November 22. It seems genuinely playful and joyful. Even Pat loves it.
