Major League Gaming video consumption up 262% in 2013

Major League Gaming has announced video consumption for its esporting events was up 262% in 2013 year-over-year, and up a whopping 1557% since 2010.

According to data sent over to VG247, viewers consumed more than 54 million hours of MLG’s online video content in 2013 versus 14 million hours of video consumed by NCAA March Madness Live viewers.

MLG said engagement time was high, with viewers watching an average of 150 minutes each versus NCAA online viewers who watched 105 minutes each.

The news comes on the heels of the launch of MLG.TV, MLG’s premium online video streaming platform for web and mobile.
