Tales of Zestiria is two years off, and we haven’t got the last one yet, but here’s some video of the new mothership Tales title to drool over.
Tales of Zestiria is a PlayStation 3 exclusive, and has been confirmed for simultaneous Japanese and western release. It’s something of a celebration of the RPG franchise’s history, as it will release close to its 20th anniversary in 2015, and draws on the talents of all four designers involved to date.
The Tales series used to be very hit-and-miss with regards to localisations, but in recent years Namco Bandai seems to have committed to bringing the core series to the west. Tales of Xillia arrived in Europe and North America in August 2013, just one month short of two years after its initial Japanese release. Sequel Tales of Xillia 2 released in Japan in November 2012, and is expected in the west sometime in 2014.
The Tales franchise has shipped 16 million units worldwide since 1995.
