Total US game sales up 1% in 2013 – NPD

By Stephany Nunneley

NPD has issued its annual report on game spending in the United States, and during 2013, new, used, rental and digital sales came in at $15.39 billion. While a rather hefty figure all things considered, it’s only a 1% jump over 2012. NPD also reported that physical sales declined 11% year-over-year, and that digital and mobile sales offset the decline. Hardware sales were up 5% year-over-year, maerking a 2% gain in overall spending. Thanks, Game Informer.
