Burden is a tower defence game with a pretty neat twist; the action takes place on the body of a colossal beast, with players managing multiple battlefields as invaders attempt to climb and defeat the titan. Take a look at your sweet ride in the trailer below.
Burden is set in the realm of Mhoroa, a civilisation facing extinction as the environment is destroyed by resource exploitation. The destruction can be halted if the Colossi can be moved to specific locations, but the engineers working to save the world face massed resistance from confused citizens. Each chapter has players defending a different colossus.
“Everyone talks about standing on the shoulders of giants, but they never consider those shoulders have towers that can kill you,” Pixel Pickle Games director Rob Dowling said.
Publisher Surprise Attack said the project has undergone “radical design changes” since we first heard about it last year. The Linux, Mac and PC title has been approved for Steam release and will launch on Early Access within two months, for $15. After launch later this year it will set you back $20.
