Disney has laid off 700 employees in its mobile, social, and web-based gaming division.
According to a report on The New York Times, the cuts large-scale changes are due to a renewed focus on gaining and sustaining profitability, according to Disney Interactive president James Pitaro.
Disney has been scaling back on its game division for years, and when it acquired Lucas Arts 2012, it dissolved the gaming sector in April of 2013.
