Kickstarter has reached a new all-time high today. The firm announced that its crowd-funding platform has revived $1 billion in pledges for various projects. With games generating the biggest share of $215 million.
The firm created a page titled “1 billion” that celebrates the milestone and shows various interesting results. According to detailed stats page , more than half of that amount was pledged in the last 12 months. 5,708,578 people from 224 different countries are responsible for that amount. With the top countries including US, UK, Canada, Australia and Germany.
Of that $1 billion amount, only $859 million has successfully reached the project holders. The top earning category has been games, with over $215 million in pledges, $189.84 million of which has gone to successful projects, a success rate of 35.15%.
The firm also reported that 1,689,979 people have backed more than one project, whereas 15,932 people have backed more than 50 projects.
March 13 of last year was the day with most pledges, with 54,187 backers pledged $4,029,585.45 to 1,985 projects.
