Xbox Entertainment Studios is in development negotiations with cable TV powerhouse Showtime for its live-action Halo series, according to a Variety report.
Halo: The Television Series was announced during Microsoft’s Xbox One reveal in May last year, and Steven Spielberg’s Amblin TV studio is developing the franchisee spin-off.
According to Variety’s sources, Microsoft is seeking a deal with Showtime, which will see the series air on both the cable channel and the firm’s Xbox One console.
The sources stated that episodes would be aired first on Showtime before landing on Xbox One.
The show is being produced by Microsoft with input from Halo development house 343 Industries.
