Watch Dogs opening cinematic shows the dangers of hacking

By Stephany Nunneley

Watch Dogs has a rather interesting opening sequence, and it was created by the same folks who developed the opening for Titanfall, Spov Design.

The studio was approached by Ubisoft Montreal and asked to visualize the “interior workings of a super-connected network of devices,” which are prevalent in the game’s fictionalized, near-future version of Chicago.

Spov created the look and feel of the network connections and data displays, as well as the tracking data used for NPCs across devices “from desktops to smart-phones.”

The footage was then produced using Ubisoft’s gameplay sequences in order to provide a background to the game’s narrative.

Watch Dogs is out now on PC, PlayStation 3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
