Deep Down producer Kazunori Sugiura has stated he hopes to have news regarding the PlayStation 4 beta sometime this month.
According to post on Twitter June 30 (thanks NeoGAF), Sugiura said the team is currently discussing “policies for the beta test” with higher-ups at Capcom.
“Details on the public beta test are likely to come in July,” he said. “There’s no excuse, as everyone was looking forward to the information. Rather than development circumstances, we’re discussing with the higher ups the policies for the beta test.
“As an apology, I’m attaching a screenshot of the game in development. It’s a dungeon themed after the emotion of Anger.I will report again in July.”
This is the first time we have seen the inside of this dungeon, to my knowledge, but we’ve seen the outside entrance of it before here. Unless all dungeon entrances look like an ancient Greece statue with its mouth open.
The Deep Down beta was originally scheduled to launch alongside the release of PlayStation 4 in Japan, but was delayed into summer.
A western release hasn’t been detailed, but the game was trademarked by Capcom in North America back in January.
