Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty will include a couple of pieces of new content, which will only be available if you – when you – for those who – look, it’s all a bit complicated. You’d better sit down.
Alf’s Escape is “an all-new area of RuptureFarms containing brand new puzzles and fiendish hazards that’ll ensure a fresh challenge for even the most seasoned Oddworld fans, as well as specially recorded dialogue”. Players will be charged with sneaking the Abe’s Exoddus character out of the factory. This extra sequence has a dedicated PSN leaderboard, and will be available “shortly” after release.
Meanwhile, Scrub Abe is a DLC costume for Abe modelled after regular factory workers. It will be available on release day.
How you get your hands on this content at no cost varies depending on region:
- North America: exclusive to pre-orders
- Europe and the UK: exclusive to PS Plus subscribers who purchase the core game within two weeks of release
North American pre-orders are pre-load enabled, by the way.
Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty arrives in PS4 on July 22 in North American and July 23 in Europe and beyond. It supports cross-buy with Vita and PS3 (this applies to the bonus content, too) and will set you back $30/£18/€21.
If in doubt, you can double check any of these details on PlayStation Blog if you’re in North America or the Oddworld blog for those in the UK or Europe.
