Sucker Punch, known for the Infamous and Sly Cooper franchises, has had a round of layoffs, Sony has confirmed.
“SCEA can confirm a reduction in workforce has taken place at Sucker Punch Productions,” said a statement issued to IGN.
“Sucker Punch is appreciative of the tremendous work team members contributed to the Infamous and Sly Cooper series, and wishes them the best in their next endeavors.”
There is no word on exactly how many personnel have been let go from the Washington, US-based studio.
Sucker Punch’s most recent release was Infamous: Second Son for PS4, and the standalone DLC Infamous: First Light is due for release toward the end of this month.
These days it isn’t too unusual for a big developer to let staff go once a big project is complete. Still, we wish those people affected the best of luck in finding new roles elsewhere.
Thanks, CVG.
