Destiny was released in Japan on September 11, and the online shooter provided PlayStation 4 with a nice sales boost.
On PS4, the title moved 91,277 units for the week, with the PS3 version selling 49,503. Combined, the title sold 140,780 units on Sony’s platforms.
The shooter helped moved PlayStation 4 units, as the console saw sales go from 7,299 the prior week to 23,623 units.
Destiny was not released on Xbox 360 and Xbox One in Japan, as it is a Sony exclusive in the region.
Speaking of Xbox One, a week after release, sales of the console fell from 25,674 units at launch to 3,015 units for the September 8-14 period.
Thanks, Gematsu.
