Apparently there are more ways to dispatch enemies in Destiny than using guns.
In a post over on Xbox Wire, a guide of sorts details some of the ways you can forgo using the large variety of guns at your disposal, and get more creative with your murdering spree.
Grenades: Every class has variety of grenades ranging from traditional, incendiary and sticky grenades. Many apparently go “beyond the normal scope: of your typical handheld explosives such as those carried by the Voidwalker subclass. The one carries by the class creates a “big energy tornado” which pulls in nearby enemies. There’s also a swarm grenade for the Gunslinger subclass.
Melee: There’s nothing more satisfying than punching someone in the face. Or so I have heard. In Destiny, you can engage in fisticuffs if you play the Striker subclass, and like the aforementioned grenades, each subclass has its own melee move. The Bladedancer uses a blade and the Gunslinger comes with a throwing knife – which can be upgraded to dole out incendiary damage.
Super Abilities: Voidwalker’s can use the Nova Bomb move “to turn enemies into dust” by throwing a bolt of void energy which when it explodes, disintegrates enemies within a certain radius. Bladedancer’s Arc Blade move charges their sword with Arc Light, which turns it into a “lightning charged super death sword.”
Vehicles: If all else fails, you can always use one of a number of vehicles to mow down aliens which sounds a bit more gratifying than using your fists to punch the daylights out of them. Vehicles in the game range from assault to the Goliath – which is a tank.
Sounds like players have plenty of options should they become bored with handheld weapons.
