Nintendo hosted a Nintendo Direct this morning, a first for Australia, and with it came a bunch of announcements pertaining to the launch and pricing of the New 3DS and 3DS XL outside Japan.
During the Nintendo Direct, the firm confirmed that both the New 3DS and New 3DS XL will be launching November 21 in Australia and New Zealand, and 2015 in Europe and North America.
The New 3DS is priced at AU$219.95 (around £119), the New 3DS XL is priced at AU$249.95 (around £135). There’s going to be 20 face plates available on launch.
The Xenoblade Chronicles 3DS port, which is coming only to new hardware iterations, was also on show, still pegged for a 2015 launch.
Speaking of games, Nintendo UK confirmed to Videogamer that Australian units will be able to play games bought in the UK, so importing should be a valid decision should you want it.
This is not a change from the normal Nintendo region-locking policy however, since Europe and Australia are considered the same region.
Here’s the full Nintendo Direct below.
