Both upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog titles Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric and Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal will now release on November 11 in North America.
Sega announced the first entries into Sega’s new Sonic “universe” will be pulled forward earlier this week, ahead of a November 18 release. Given the fact that November 18 already marks the release of several big names in gaming, such as Grand Theft Auto V on next-gen consoles, Far Cry 4, and Dragon Age: Inquisition, it’s easy to see why this change could have been made.
Of course, this change only affects the North American release of both games, with the European editions still set for a November 21 debut.
Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric for Wii U from Big Red Button offers a cooperative adventure in which Sonic and company encounter a bizarre cyborg snake named Lyric.
Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal, the 3DS counterpart from Sanzaru Games, will introduce new badger character Sticks to aid Sonic and friends in a side-scrolling adventure in a much different vein of Rise of Lyric.
Thanks, CVG.
