EGX has signed a multi-year contract which will see it move to Birmingham’s NEC starting next year.
The announcement coincides with the conclusion of the “most successful event” in EGX’s seven-year history: EGX London 2014 had a record 75,000 attendees visit the show over four days.
Those planning to attend in 2015 should note ticket prices will remain the same and organizers are working with travel companies to “deliver discounted train and coach packages” for visitors.
EGX will take place at the Resorts World Birmingham which opens spring 2015 as part of the NEC campus.
The entertainment complex contains a four star hotel, restaurants, bars, a cinema and a casino. Better put some gambling funds aside, then.
“EGX has experienced amazing growth during our four years at Earl’s Court,” commented co-founder and CEO of Gamer Network, Rupert Loman. “While we are sad to leave, we see the move to the NEC not only as a real opportunity to continue its success, but also to evolve and improve the experience we offer both attendees and exhibitors.”
The next show on the docket, EGX Rezzed, will take place March 12-14 at London’s Tobacco Dock, with the BAFTA Games Awards held at the venue on the first evening.
Tickets for EGX Rezzed are now on sale.
EGX 2015 runs September 24-27.
