Another Game of Thrones teaser has been released by Telltale Games. This time, it makes mention of the Flayed Men.
The Flayed Men tease stems from House Bolton of the Dreadfort, which has for centuries made a habit of flaying their enemies alive. This led to the House using a flayed man as their House sigil.
The House was once under the rule of House Stark, but even with Eddard Stark outlawing flaying in the North, the Boltons continue the practice.
House Bolton’s heraldry consists of a red flayed man upside-down on an x-shaped white cross over a field of black. Their official motto is “Our Blades Are Sharp”, though a common saying of members of the House is “A naked man has few secrets; a flayed man, none”.
The House is centuries old and at first resisted the efforts of House Stark Kings to unify the North. It ended up killing many a Stark during the conflict and rumor has it, the House kept Stark skins as trophies – even going so far as to wear them as cloaks. Yikes.
At some point, Bolton pledged allegiance to Winterfell after eventually losing the battle.
Like previous teases, the latest image points to the adventure game taking place in the North.
Game of Thrones is out sometime this year.
The game will arrive on home consoles, PC, Mac, and mobile devices with specific platform details to be announced closer to launch.
