North Americans can now buy and pre-purchase Wii U and 3DS games from Nintendo’s web store and download the games through a generated code.
The option was first noticed by NeoGAF user L~A, and noted that those who have a Nintendo Network ID will have the code sent “directly to the console.”
Those without a NNID will receive a code via email when they purchase a game. Those who pre-purchase games will have a download code sent to their systems launch which can then be downloaded come midnight.
The codes can even be given as gifts.
As of press time, the option is only available for first-party titles and only in North America – we’ll prod Nintendo UK for you on the matter.
