Some fake beta invites for GTA 5 have been doing the rounds for a while. Rockstar has caught wind of it and has responded.
As always, since the developer did not announce anything regarding a beta test of the PC, PlayStation 4 or Xbox One version of the game, you can safely assume the invites being sent around are just scam. This has definitely not stopped people from spreading those invites thinking they were the real thing.
Rockstar has dedicated an entire page to warning people off those scams.
“Please note: There is no pre-release ‘BETA’ test for Grand Theft Auto 5. If you see ads or solicitations to join a beta program, beware as this is likely some type of online phishing scam,” the message read.
