Microsoft announced today its Q1 fiscal year 2015 financial results with the news that total Xbox console sales hit 2.4 million for the period.
According to Microsoft, that’s 102% growth in unit sales. The Xbox brand is part of the Devices and Consumer division, which saw a 47% increase in revenue to $10.96 billion.
The firm also reported $23.20 billion in earnings for the quarter ended September 30.
A conference call to investors is set to occur shortly. If anything interesting comes out of it, we’ll update this post accordingly.
Update: Microsoft has clarified its announcement to indicate the 2.4 million unit refers to consoles sold-in (shipped to retailers), not sold through (purchased by consumers).
