Amid the ambitious features and the early reports of technical shortcomings, did Assassin’s Creed Unity fare well with pundits? Find out in our review round-up below.
Unity is the first Assassin’s Creed game to be developed from the ground-up for new-gen consoles. The game is built on a new engine that – on top of offering better graphics – supports large numbers of NPCs on screen, more than any of the previous games in the series.
In visual prowess, the game also adds the much-requested stealth button. You no longer have to look for bushes or trees to hide in while you wait for an NPC to turn around. The new stealth button makes in-door sections possible, as you can hide behind cover like modern stealth games.
Unity is the also the first Assassin’s Creed game to include a co-operative component. Up to four players can tackle heists and assassination missions, with support for extensive character customisation and multiple pieces of gear.
It’s not all excitement and hype for Unity though. The game appears to have technical issues on all platforms.
