Lots of The Dark Below content added to Destiny in patch 1.0.3

Destiny patch 1.0.3 made a lot of really excellent visible changes, but its also did a lot behind the scenes to prepare the shooter MMO for first expansion The Dark Below.

Destiny looks to be getting new PvP modes, emblems and shaders, according to lists of new additions to the game since patch 1.0.3 dropped.

The new additions are visible on both DestinyDB and DestinyTracker, each of which scrape the game data and servers for intel. The list of new additions is growing regularly, as the update seems to be ongoing, server-side.

A couple of Redditors have compiled lists of the new stuff; here are three examples.

There’s a lot of stuff on there we knew about, at least in general terms – new weapons and armour, for example, as well as story missions and Eris, the quest-giving Tower vendor. The new kinds of multiplayer game are probably the most exciting in terms of new information.

That said, there’s something called the Crux of Crota, an Exotic grade upgrade material. I’m guessing from its description that you can earn this defeating Crota in The Dark Below’s new raid, but what might it do?

There’s no guarantee that all of this stuff will hit Destiny with The Dark Below, as there are loads of things on the databases that are yet to appear in-game, but enough of it clearly is expansion content that we expect the majority of it to arrive on December 9.
