CoD: Advanced Warfare and Destiny are the best-selling games of the year in the US

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare and Destiny are the two top-selling console game releases at retail in US, according to Activision.

Activision has announced that Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare and Destiny are the two best-selling games across retail in US, respectively. The numbers are based on retail sell-through data from the NDP Group, according to the publisher.

Advanced Warfare is the top-selling console game of the year through November on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. As well as the US retail overall. Destiny is the number two top-selling title at retail in the US through November.

Destiny remains the top-selling new franchise of the year through November. As for Call of Duty, this year marks the franchise’s 6th consecutive year in leading November sales.

Additionally, Skylanders is the number one “kids video game franchise” of the year at retail in the US, also through November.

“To date, 2014 has been a series of number ones for Activision Publishing: Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is the #1 top-selling game of the year, Skylanders is the #1 kids video game franchise of the year, and Destiny is the #1 top-selling new video game franchise of the year,” said Eric Hirshberg, CEO of Activision Publishing.

“We are excited about how fans have responded to Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, Destiny and Skylanders Trap Team, and have even more great new content in store in 2015.”
