Devolver CEO wants to make a new Seaman game

2015 is less than a week old and already the best news of the year has landed.

The very best thing happened on Twitter over the holidays. You know Devolver Digital, the rebellious little publisher of games like Serious Sam, Hotline Miami, Luftrausers, The Talos Principle?

And you know how the license for bizarre Dreamcast title Seaman seems to be languishing unused?

Well, it seems like Devolver CEO Fork Parker woke up one morning towards the end of 2014 and thought to himself “I could do something about this.” So then he went on Twitter (where more business deals make their first stirrings than you might believe) to see if he could make it happen.

This alone would be enough to inspire me to pen a headline like “Fork Parker is probably wildly handsome and obviously very intelligent”, but what makes it all extra exciting is that someone took notice, and that someone was Yoot Saito, the eccentric, delightful and sadly not very prolific creator behind everyone’s favourite weird face-fish-talking life sim.
