Sony has released a new video for Until Dawn, which provides a look into character relationships in the game.
In Supermassive Games’ Until Dawn, players will have a chance to get to know the group of eight friends on thier annual mountain getaway, before everything goes to hell in a bloody handbasket.
At the start of the game, characters will “couple off” around the house either by choice or circumstance.
Ashley and Chris for example, have a close friendship, yet each harbors an inner need to take it to the next level. This “will-they or won’t-they” dynamic isn’t pre-defined in the game. Like every other outcome in Until Dawn, your choices will determine whether the two become lovebirds or stick with the status quo – if either survive.
“Choice is a central tenet of Until Dawn,” said executive producer Pete Samuels. “Your actions not only determine who lives or dies, but will also directly influence the relationships between the characters (romantic or otherwise).
“You will even influence how characters react to each other: if you are mean to a friend, they may or may not choose to save you later in the game. The narrative will always continue forward, adapting to your decisions throughout the game – meaning that your game will be noticeably different from anyone else’s.”
Until Dawn is a PlayStation 4 exclusive, and will be released sometime during early summer.
It was originally announced as a Move title for PlayStation 3.
