With eight days left to reach its $300,000 Kickstarter goal, new PlayStation 4 and Xbox One stretch goals have been announced for NightCry, the spiritual successor to Clock Tower.

According to Playism Games, which is handling the localisation of the title, $450,000 pledged would allow the PS4 version to be created, and cor Xbox One the team needs $550,000.

The Grudge director Takashi Shimizu recently stopped by the studio “to help tune the horror aspects of the game,” and you can have a look at him playing the game over on the Kickstarter page – which also contains a look at the game’s first hair physics test.

Shimizu is also creative director on the project.

In the update, director Hifumi Kouno, who headed up the first two Clock Tower games, discusses the newest character model for Monica and how the team is “working hard daily to improve the quality of NightCry.”

“We have not yet replaced the character model in our newest gameplay trailer, we are confident that you will notice a difference in the clothing material and post effects,” said Kouno.

A new video featuring extended gameplay of the early part of NightCry, narrated by Playism’s Douglas Watt, is what you see in the video posted above.

Formerly known as Project Scissors, Night Cry is in development at Nude Maker studios which is composed of ex-Human Entertainment members.

As of press time, the game has received $150,351 in pledges from 1,440 backers.

The base goal would allow Night Cry to be released on Android, iOS, PC and PS Vita.
