Former Battlefield and Payday 2 developer David Goldfarb has announced he’s developing a new role-playing game at the new Stockholm-based studio The Oustiders.
Goldfarb is creative lead, he told Eurogamer, and ex-DICE employee Ben Cousins will act as company CEO. The game is a concept Goldfarb said he has been working on for quite some time.
“I’ve been working on this concept for a long time,” he said. “It felt like I had gotten to a place where I felt good about it, but then I realised that I couldn’t do it alone. So I thought, maybe I should go find somebody, and that’s when I thought of Ben.
“He’s actually the reason I originally joined DICE, who told me back in the day, ‘Y’know, why don’t you come out here?’ But he has a ton of experience starting things, doing them in a new way.”
Goldfarb wouldn’t go into details on the project, but states its initial release will be on PC and he is looking to include a dynamic story instead of one with a “set structure.”
