While exact figures aren’t available yet, preliminary sale numbers out of the west for The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask and Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate have been revealed by Nintendo.
According to company president Satoru Iwata, for the three days available in the US, Majora’s Mask moved close to 300,500 copies.
For the two days available in Europe, the game moved around 200,500 copies.
During the same timeframe, The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds moved close to 200,000 units in the US and around 100,500 units in Europe.
While sales of Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate weren’t available for the US, preliminary data from Capcom Europe shows unit sales of over 100,000, compared to half that for Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate during the same release timeframe.
“Sales of the Monster Hunter series in the US are not available in the graph because we have not finished compiling the exact data on the titles, which are published by Capcom, and it was a holiday there yesterday,” Iwata told investors.
“We have heard from Capcom, however, that the initial sales pace of Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, including the special-edition hardware with the title pre-installed, is more than three times as fast as Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate in quick estimation.
“They both had promising starts thanks to strong pre-orders and their highly-acclaimed gameplay.”
Both games released alongside New 3DS and 3DS XL in Europe and New 3DS XL in North America, and Capcom revealed earlier this week Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate had shipped over 3 million copies worldwide.
