Nintendo wants to release low-cost titles on 3DS and offer more demos for full-priced games on its systems.
Speaking with The Nikkei, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata said such incentives will help stimulate platform sales.
Iwata believes customers are more likely to purchase a major game release once they have played a demo version.
As far as older title releases for 3DS, Nintendo is looking to mobile for inspiration due to the affordable and lower cost of titles offered on iOS and Android systems.
The company wants to re-create some of its classic titles, like the recently released Box Boy in Japan, which would be inexpensive to develop as the design has already been completed.
Thanks, Nintendo Life.
